Descripción
Mapefer 1K is a one-component mortar, based on cementitious binders, powder polymers and corrosion inhibitors, to be applied to the reinforcing bars and prevent the formation of rust, according to a formulation developed in the MAPEI Research Laboratories.
CHARACTERISTICS
Mapefer 1K, once mixed with water, transforms into a mortar that is easy to work and apply. After hardening, it is resistant to salt spray, according to EN 15183, and impermeable to water and aggressive gases present in the atmosphere.
The anticorrosive action of Mapefer 1K is mainly due to these factors:
- High alkalinity
- Optimal adhesion to metal
- Presence of corrosion inhibitors
IMPORTANT NOTICES
- Do not add water to the Mapefer 1K mixture when the product has started to set.
- Do not add cement or aggregates to Mapefer 1K
- Apply Mapefer 1K immediately after sandblasting (do not leave the polished surface unprotected for a long time)
- Do not apply Mapefer 1K at temperatures below +5 °C

Some application examples
Realkalizing anti-corrosion protection of the reinforcing iron, in the repair of concrete carried out with shrinkage-compensated mortars from the Mapegrout line or with traditional cementitious mortars modified with latex based on synthetic resins, whether in buried structures or not.

100 g/m of product for an 8 mm diameter bar and 200 g/m for a 16 mm bar (2 mm of product applied)
